“I originally signed up with Emily for a consultation and a set of personal sessions to help me overcome a shoulder injury, which was in a vulnerable condition and gradually freezing up, causing me to compromise in most of my sports. Emily’s assessment and the exercise routines she put together for me were spot on and it took less time and effort than I expected for my shoulder to improve significantly. Emily identified a number of other imbalances and compensations that could use some attention, and this led me to join her Move Well Move Better classes. MWMB is all about functional movement. As a 64 year old that still goes for it in a variety of sports, I have come to realize that improving functional movement is probably the most important factor to continuing to perform at a high level and enjoying an adventurous lifestyle. Most everyone knows that flexibility is a key to staying youthful and injury-free but MWMB takes this to another level, where flexibility and core strength are combined with the correct movement of muscle groups through their full range of motion. Classes are challenging and a lot of fun, with great music in the background. Every class is a different set of movements and you get to focus on your own body and improve with every class. It’s almost another sport in its own right. The result is a whole body that moves more fully and comfortably. Like a younger person. What more can an older person ask for?”
